As part of our quarterly community initiative, Appleton was thrilled to partner with Boston’s (and the nation’s) first women’s shelter, Rosie’s Place. We hosted Kelsey Soto, Community Partnership Manager at Rosie’s Place for a lunch and learn and to hear more about the various services and programs they provide. Colleagues were asked to bring travel size toiletry items for a donation drive that would then be distributed to Rosie’s Place guests. We followed up with a group of volunteers spending time at the shelter helping to sort, organize, and pack toiletry items into kits for guests. The group was able to sort countless items and pack almost 200 kits and other personal care items during their visit. Over 350 of these kits are distributed daily at Rosie’s place. Appleton was honored for the opportunity to make such a positive impact on such an impressive organization.
