Honoring the Life and Legacy of William L. Kingman

It is with great sadness that Appleton announces the passing of William L. Kingman, a former principal of the firm, at age 94. Bill was a beloved colleague, mentor, and wealth manager whose leadership was instrumental in the company’s growth and development.

Appleton Partners was established in 1986 with the goal of addressing the growth, income, and capital preservation needs of clients through personalized separate account management and attentive relationship management. Bill’s charisma, unrelenting focus on clients, and market insight provided invaluable direction to the firm’s employees over many years.

Bill brought to Appleton a wealth of investment, tax management, and trust experience having previously served as a Portfolio Manager, Trustee, and later Chairman of Franklin Management Corporation. He also acted as a Trustee and Director for several financial, civic and charitable organizations, served in the United States Navy, and was a graduate of Yale University.

“Bill was a wonderful business partner, close friend, and an esteemed colleague who will be missed. His ability to connect with clients and employees at all levels of the organization created a rich legacy that will be sustained in the years ahead,” emphasized Douglas Chamberlain, President and CEO.
